Project promotes Anteater virtues

Anteater Virtues project
The Anteater Virtues project, which began in 2019, focuses on four intellectual virtues: curiosity, integrity, intellectual humility and intellectual tenacity. It also focuses on fostering virtuous intellectual traits and avoiding intellectual shortcomings. A range of disciplinary and historical perspectives is represented throughout. “At UCI, we are devoted to enhancing our students’ intellectual development as a whole,” explains project director Duncan Pritchard, a Distinguished Professor of philosophy. “The Anteater Virtues project is a way of highlighting this feature of a UCI education, by showing students how their UCI experience can help them become more inquisitive, more open to new ideas, and have greater intellectual determination, while all the time developing their integrity as individuals.”
