The 23rd annual Irvine Global Village Festival took place Oct. 5, at the Great Park, providing an opportunity for UC Irvine to bring a bit of the university directly to the people of Irvine. Participants included UCI Mind, Orange County’s only state- and federally funded Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, members of UC Irvine Athletics, and representatives from the UCI Chemistry Academy, a summer STEM program for K-12 students. OC’s only academic health system, UCI Health, also had a large role in the festivities, sharing information about the many offerings and services they provide to patients.
