Research reveals new insights into brain’s memory storage |
|

Researchers have identified two neural circuits that are directly linked to spatial navigation and memory storage. The discovery could lead to more precise medical treatments for Alzheimer’s disease and other cognitive disorders by allowing them to target pathway-specific neural circuits. “This is an important step in understanding how conditions like Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders affect particular regions of the brain, which will help to inform new approaches and treatments,” said study author Xiangmin Xu (above) a Chancellor’s Professor of anatomy & neurobiology and director of the Center for Neural Circuit Mapping. |

Wen and his family to advance cardiovascular health through superior patient care, groundbreaking research and the holistic training of future physicians. “UCI Health is committed to offering patients the latest expertise, treatments and technology in its heart health program,” said Dr. Pranav M. COVID-19 response report released |

The University of California has released a detailed evaluation of its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting key strategies, observations and areas for future improvement. A key finding is that systemwide policies communicated by campus experts to faculty and staff significantly reduced the variation of experience across all locations, ultimately protecting UC populations. Lower excess mortality was observed during the public health emergency among UC employees compared with the overall California employed population. |

Banks; the American Indian Student Association’s Arlene Dominguez; and Associate Dean of Students Floyd Lai. Lori White (below, at microphone), president of DePauw University, was the event’s keynote speaker Her father was Joseph L. White (1932-2017), a leading scholar and pioneer in the field of Black psychology who helped found the Cross-Cultural Center when he was a professor of social sciences at UC Irvine.
