COVID-19 vaccination reminder

Per UC policy, all UC Irvine employees must submit attestations indicating they have received the latest COVID-19 vaccine by Friday, Dec. 6., or they must submit a declination indicating they are choosing not to receive the vaccine. You are not required to provide documentation that you have received the vaccine or a reason for your declination. Log into the Occupational Health Database to complete your attestation or declination.

Vaccinations available on campus

UC Irvine continues to partner with Albertsons and Ralphs pharmacies to bring vaccinations to campus. These clinics are open to students, staff, faculty, other academic personnel, retirees, and community members. Kaiser members will be able to receive the flu vaccine at these campus clinics. Information on the clinics can be found at this website.

Parkinson’s disease: Knowledge is power

Being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease can be a shocking, despair-inducing experience. But UCI Health neurologist Dr. Claire Henchcliffe believes knowledge is power. “Knowing more about what’s happening to you allows you to seek as much information as you wish, and to look for opportunities for optimal treatment now and in the future, including participating in clinical trials, if desired,” she recently advised. Parkinson’s disease is the fastest-growing neurological disorder in the world, affecting an estimated 10 million people. Nearly 90,000 U.S. cases are diagnosed each year.

Giving Tuesday is today

This #GivingTuesday, if you are in position to help, please consider making a difference with a gift to one of our student-serving funds. Your support directly enriches services for our students, meeting their needs where it matters most. Unlike endowments, these funds can be used immediately to make a tangible impact. Give today – big or small – to help our students as they strive to create a brilliant future for our community and the world. Let’s make a collective impact this #GivingTuesday.
