February is Heart Health Month, and with it comes a reminder to evaluate your daily habits and make small adjustments that can yield lifelong benefits. Matthew Landry, an assistant professor of population health & disease prevention, provides a fun walk-through of the American Health Association’s Life’s Essential 8 steps to help lower your risk of cardiovascular disease.

UCI Health chief operating officer and senior vice president Nathan Shinagawa has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of its COOs to Know. With over 14 years of hospital leadership and a decade in public service, he oversees daily operations for the $4 billion network, including the development of the UCI Health – Irvine medical campus. He also spearheaded the acquisition of four community hospitals, elevating UCI Health to one of California's largest academic health systems.
