Spine surgeons recognized for excellence, share new goals |

The UCI Health Comprehensive Spine Center has been recognized as one of the nation’s leading programs by Becker’s Hospital Review. The center’s key strength is the unique collaboration forged between pioneers in orthopaedic surgery and neurosurgery. Spine surgeon Dr. Hao-Hua Wu says that one of his top priorities this year will be expanding collaborations with colleagues throughout the academic health system to provide the highest level of care for patients with spinal tumors. |

UC statement on judicial order halting NIH funding cuts |

In a statement released today, the UC Office of the President responded to a federal judge’s order to halt cuts to the indirect costs funding provided by NIH grants: “We are grateful for the judge’s order and the bipartisan chorus of policymakers for supporting efforts to continue this vital research that saves lives and improves health care for countless Americans,” the statement reads. “The University of California is committed to working with the new administration to ensure taxpayer dollars are well spent on innovations and lifesaving research.” |

In response to the catastrophic California wildfire and North Carolina hurricane disasters, the Paul Merage School of Business is providing free access to Under One Roof: Creating Harmony for Multigenerational Living, a book that provides strategies for designing sustainable, long-term housing solutions – particularly beneficial for families temporarily living together while they rebuild. Written by Emily Graham, Angel Vargas and John Graham, the book can be downloaded through eScholarship.org, UC’s open-access publishing platform. |
