Wearable bioelectronic stress profiler |
UC Irvine researchers have developed a multimodal, bioelectronic wrist-worn device for real-time monitoring of stress. More than half of Americans experience overwhelming stress at least once a year. “Stress is not a single signal; it’s a dynamic physiological and biochemical response,” said senior author Rahim Esfandyar-pour, assistant professor of electrical engineering & computer science and biomedical engineering. “By measuring both molecular biomarkers and physiological signals at the same time, we can reduce ambiguity and move toward stress monitoring that’s more specific, objective and informative.” #SpeakUp4Science |
